Session Submission Type: Created Panel
Populist narratives appear in the text of speeches, newspapers, and politicians' tweets. This panel tackles how researchers can use automated methods of text analysis to measure populist narratives, how politicians change their speech to appeal to the public, and how these narratives influence public opinion. Papers in this panel measure populism both within the United States and around the world.
