Session Description

The APSA Career Fair is an opportunity for APSA members to connect with departments, institutions, and organizations for informational and informal discussions about jobs in political science, and other careers that draw on political science training, both on campus and in applied settings. Any APSA Annual Meeting attendee interested in learning more about career paths in political science is welcome to attend. Attendees do not need to be on the job market or actively seeking a position.

Topics include: Working at a Community College (Erin Richards, Cascadia College; Andrew Teas, Houston Community College); Recent Experiences on the Academic Job Market (Roberto Carlos, University of Pennsylvania; Alissandra Stoyan, Kansas State University); Landing a Post-Doc (Hannah Alarian, University of Florida; Nicholas Barnes, Brown University) Preparing for the Tenure Review Process (Victor Asal, University of Albany; Sarah Allen Gershon, Georgia State University); Administrative Roles in Academia (Cammy Shay, Houston Comm College; Carolyn Forestiere, University of Maryland-Baltimore); Navigating the Job Market for Applied Political Scientists (Yazmin Argen Garcia Trejo, US Census Bureau; Nathan Paxton, US Senate)
