Session Submission Type: Created Panel
A growing literature seeks to understand the forces that are pushing back against the advancement of women and feminism. The papers in this panel consider resistance to and backlash against gender equality from several angles: by theorizing obstruction to the political participation of women, investigating counter-mobilization against #MeToo and its effects on anticipated political engagement, testing how threats to men’s economic status affect gender attitudes, and exploring opposition to gender perspectives in peace agreements.
