Globalization is under attack. Brexit, the 2016 victory of Donald Trump and the rise of nationalism around the world reflects rising popular discontent with globalization. What are the key forces driving these forces? This panel explores new economic and systemic explanations for the backlash. One of the main findings in this set of papers is that it is the interaction of both sociotropic and self interest that are impacting the anti-globalization furor.
