In classical political thought, some philosophers, such as Aristotle, study the nature ofthe political by examining how the nature of our bodies shapes political experience. The philosophers also study how we exoerience pleasure and pain, and they ask how these experiences limit and guide us as citizens and human beings. At the same time, philosophers also examined the nature of the polis by thinking about its relation to the household. Along with all these approaches to studying the elemetents of political life, the poets and philosophers look principally to justice to comprehend what is truly political. This panel explores the various approaches to the elements of political life.
