The racial divisions we see in space and society have complex causes and histories. Understanding the sources of these scars and the sometimes invisible (and unexpected) geographies of separation can generate important insights to overcoming these divisions. These divisions also offer avenues for building bridges and community and intensifying racial solidarity.
