This paper will examine the impact of Donald Trump on the 2020 U.S. presidential and congressional elections. Using data from the 2020 American National Election Study, exit polls and aggregate election results, I will examine the contribution of Trump to two long-term trends: the rise of negative partisanship and the nationalization of sub-presidential elections.
