The development of social media has led to the birth of internet sensationalized politics. Politicians have attempted to attract the public’s attention and win their support by cooperating with internet sensations or even becoming internet sensations. Due to the lack of research on internet sensationalized politics, this study aims to understand the factors influencing individual attitudes toward internet sensationalized politics. Since personality traits affect how people respond to the stimuli of the external environment, the purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between personality traits and individual attitudes toward internet sensationalized politics. To achieve the above aim, this study collects an original dataset by conducting the telephone survey in Taiwan to examine how the Big Five personality traits influence individual attitudes toward internet sensationalized politics. Overall, this study is expected to make contributions to knowledge about internet sensationalized politics and broaden our understanding of influence of personality on individual attitudes toward internet sensationalized politics.
