This paper examines the role Fox News plays in modern Republican Party primary contests. We focus on a handful of competitive gubernatorial and senatorial Republican primary contests in the 2022 cycle, examining how much attention the candidates receive on Fox News programs. We additionally examine the attention these candidates receive on Twitter and the issues with which they are associated, seeking to understand whether on-line conversation drives news coverage or vice versa. Finally, we seek to determine the extent to which this attention drives outcomes in the primary elections.
