I am conducting a panel survey of GOP county chairs to examine how their preferences for presidential candidates are evolving and to what extent they are a function of their attitudes toward democracy. Survey examines beliefs about electability, political violence, inequality, and other salient features of US politics, as well as a comparison with Democratic county chairs. This paper examines findings from the first three waves of the survey.
