424 - Section on Economic Sociology Paper Session. Economic Inequality in Wealth, Assets, and Credit

Mon, August 24, 2:30 to 4:10pm, TBA

Session Submission Type: Paper Session

Abstract

While economic inequality is an issue of growing concern to the discipline of sociology broadly, economic sociology has not been as engaged in this area as might be expected given its core themes and conceptual tools. This panel invited papers that explore the contributions of economic sociology to broader disciplinary conversations about economic inequality. Among the many excellent papers submitted for this session, a subset coalesced around the theme of asset and credit inequality, addressing it from a range of interesting angles and utilizing a variety of data sources.
