Annual Meeting App
- Do I need to register for the Annual Meeting? All authors and presenting co-authors, presiders, discussants, panelists, leaders/co-leaders, presenters and critics must register for the meeting.
- If I need to cancel my presentation who do I contact if I need to cancel my presentation or participation at the meeting? You will need to contact both the session organizer and ASA Meeting Services meetings@asanet.org.
- Can I get a registration refund if I need to cancel my presentation? Per ASA policy, refund requests must be submitted via email to meetings@asanet.org by July 10, 2019. Refunds will be issued, minus a 10% processing charge. Refund requests received after July 10, 2019 may not be granted.
- Who do I contact if I need to make a change or update the listing of my paper (title, affiliation, name, additional authors)? Please send the information to meetings@asanet.org by June 1, 2019. The following information can be updated:
Changes/updates received after June 1 will not be included in the printed program, however, they will appear in the online program and the annual meeting app.

- Do I have to be a member of ASA to present my paper? All sociologists and students of sociology who are listed on the program as participants are encouraged (but, not required) to hold membership in ASA. However, all persons listed as “Session Organizer,” must be members of the ASA.
- What AV will I have to use? ASA encourages the creative use of technology to enhance presentations at the Annual Meeting. ASA will provide an LCD projector and projection screens for presentations that requested the equipment during submission. ASA does not provide laptops/computers for presenter use. Please plan now to bring your own laptop or tablet if you are presenting. The LCD projectors are compatible with either a VGA or HDMI cable so if your laptop or tablet does not have a built-in VGA or HDMI port you will need an adapter. A limited number of adapters will also available from the AV support techs. Audio visual equipment is not provided for roundtable sessions or meetings. If you have any questions regarding audio visual, please contact Meeting Services at meetings@asanet.org.
- Will there be access to WiFi in the meeting rooms? ASA provides complimentary basic bandwidth wireless internet access in the session rooms during the Annual Meeting. For those of you considering incorporating videos into your presentations, please save a copy of your media to your laptop. WiFi service will not support streaming data (including Skype and FaceTime).
- Who do I contact if I need a Visa letter? If you need a visa letter, you can download the letter template and enter your own information to use for your visa application. (Download template here).
- Who do I contact if I need a letter of participation? Letters of participation are only given out onsite at the Annual Meeting. You can stop by the Meeting Information Desk to receive a letter of participation.
