Session Submission Type: Paper Session 100min
This panel showcases contemporary theorizing that interrogates gender as a constitutive element of immigration processes. Here, gender is understood as a multi-scalar system – as identities, interactive processes, institution and structure - that are co-constituted through other structural systems such as race, class, nationality, sexuality, age, ability, among others. The papers therefore, examine the gendered logics that structure and organize immigration and which are, in turn, negotiated and (re)constituted through it.
