This paper examines how Latine victim-survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) are supported by community-based organizations. Based on participant observations and testimonios with IPV victim-survivors and staff members, this study examines how a community-based organization, referred to here as The Community Center, provides resources and support to Latine victim-survivors of IPV. Located in a mid-size city in a mid-Atlantic state, The Community Center seeks to empower the Latine community through advocacy, services, and education. My paper examines how The Community Center supports Latine victim-survivors of IPV, including in ways that reduce harmful interactions with state systems, and how other factors, such as citizenship status and prior criminal record, shape victim-survivors’ access to and quality of support.
