There is a well established link between stress and mental health. However, limited research has examined how workplace related stress influences mental health and well being, particularly among young adults. Young adults play a vital role in driving the economy; they often serve as a “sandwich generation,” caring for young children while also supporting aging parents who are navigating major life transitions. As a result, they frequently neglect their own health and mental well being. Society is becoming increasingly complex, and the ability to manage stressors is crucial, as unmanaged stress can have significant effects on mental health. Additionally, workplace related stress may exacerbate vulnerabilities among young adults. Therefore, this study aims to examine the relationship between workplace related stress and mental health trajectories among young adults and to assess the moderating role of perceived managerial support in this relationship. Managers should be well trained in mental health—particularly with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion—and should engage in micro–macro alliances with employees to help reduce workplace induced stress and improve mental health trajectories among young adults.
