3 KINDS of LUMPEN?: Lumpenproletariat Analyses of Karl Marx, Frantz Fanon & the Black Panther Party

Abstract

This paper will explore the diverging views on the lumpenproletariat by Karl Marx, recognized Activist Anti-Colonial Marxists such as Amilcar Cabral, Frantz Fanon, and Mao Zedong [Mao Tse Tung], and concludes with examining the views of the lumpenproletariat-centered Black Panther Party [Oakland]. The changes in approach to organizing the lumpenproletariat as a class that are needed to adapt Marxism to anti-colonial struggles are explored briefly, concluding with a proposal for Anti-Colonial organizing of the lumpenproletariat in the USA.
