Session Submission Type: Paper Session (90 minute)
This session invites submissions that consider how population health is impacted by climate change. Climate change is broadly defined to include topics such extreme weather events, rising temperatures, changes in land use and cover, and rainy day flooding. Health effects could include heat-related illnesses, respiratory and cardiovascular problems from air pollution and wildfires, the expansion of vector-borne diseases, impacts on food and water security, and negative effects on mental health from extreme weather events and displacement. Submissions that explore how vulnerability varies by age, economic status, and location are also welcome.
