Session Submission Type: Paper Session (90 minute)
The aging of populations worldwide is colliding with intensifying inequalities. How do race, class, gender, and environmental factors intersect to shape life expectancy and health trajectories across the life course? We invite contributions that push the science of aging beyond descriptive demography toward structural and policy analysis. Topics might include metabolic disruption from environmental toxins, climate anxiety, access to green space, austerity politics and elder care, or global comparisons of aging under neoliberal welfare regimes. Of particular interest are submissions that consider innovative interventions—policy reforms, grassroots organizing, or technological advances—that aim to reduce disparities in longevity and wellbeing.
