Migration and Place

Mon, August 10, 10:00 to 11:30am, TBA

Session Submission Type: Paper Session (90 minute)

Description

Environmental and geopolitical disruptions change patterns of urban migration while migrants transform places themselves. This session will explore the relationship between migration and place from a variety of perspectives, including timely topics such as climate migration and the consequences of federal immigration policy for urban space, as well as broader questions of the role migrant communities play in local economies and in neighborhood transformation. For all CUSS sessions, we welcome research centering topics of race, racism, and racialization; international research; and research on urban, suburban, and rural spaces.
