Session Submission Type: Paper Session (90 minute)
Political beliefs, conspiracy theories, and ideological narratives circulate through contemporary media ecosystems with platform architectures, media infrastructures, and movement-media relationships that shape what gains traction and why. Drawing on survey, interview, ethnographic, and digital trace methods across both digital and legacy media, the papers in this session shift attention from ideological production within bounded communities to the infrastructures, relationships, and platform logics through which political content travels and becomes normalized. The session draws from papers submitted to the Communication, Information Technologies, and Media Sociology (CITAMS) section open call.
