Analytic and Computational Approaches in Social Psychology (Co-sponsored by Mathematical Sociology Section)

Mon, August 10, 2:00 to 3:30pm, TBA

Session Submission Type: Paper Session (90 minute)

Description

Mathematical Sociology and Social Psychology are closely related and overlapping sections. Many theories from social psychology have been mathematized and, at the same time, social psychology informs most of our mathematical models. This session will celebrate the synergy between the two sections by focusing on rigorous mathematical applications in the context of social psychological research. In particular this co-organized session will focus on the role of mathematics in social psychological theory, and ways to improve formal modeling in the context of social psychology.
