At a time of economic precarity, uncertainty, and inequality, personal finance has moved to the fore of individuals' lives as a means of surviving. This session will explore how various aspects of personal finance--insurance, currency, and speculative investments--are increasingly central in daily life and how they produce and exacerbate various forms of inequality.
