Session Submission Type: Workshop
Hosted by members of the American Sociological Society-Student Advisory Board (SFAB), this workshop is designed to support scholars at all career stages, with particular attention to graduate students and early-career academics navigating the publishing process. Panelists will offer practical guidance on developing publishable manuscripts, transforming dissertation chapters into journal articles, selecting appropriate journals, understanding the peer-review process, and responding effectively to reviewer and editor feedback. The workshop also addresses common structural and professional barriers to publication and highlights strategies for building sustainable and supportive scholarly writing practices. Participants will leave with actionable strategies and increased confidence to support their path from draft to publication.
