The papers in this session focus on examining race, ethnicity, and sex disparities at different stages of criminal justice processing (i.e., arrest, conviction, and incarceration). Each paper takes a unique approach to explore the source of disparity at different levels of criminal justice involvement. Strengths and challenges of using self-reported and administrative datasets to study this issue are also discussed.
