Evaluating the Implementation of Evidence-Based Practices in an Adult Probation Department

Wed, Nov 16, 11:00am to 12:20pm, Hilton, Magazine, 3rd Level

Abstract

Key to understanding the long-term impact of any change made to criminal justice organizations is determining whether specific implementation outcomes, including acceptability, feasibility, uptake, penetration and fidelity were reached. This paper presents preliminary findings from an implementation evaluation of the evidence-based practices (described in other presentations in this panel) within a large adult probation department. Using staff surveys, focus groups with stakeholders, and administrative data related to the changes made, findings will answer two types of questions, operations-relevant and theory-relevant, and discuss the next steps for this evaluation effort.
