Patterns and Predictors of Life-Course Offending from Ages 8 to 70 among 1950s Gang Members

Abstract

Based on rosters contained in Walter Miller’s papers for the Boston Special Youth Project (1954-1957), we updated official criminal histories for 350 treatment and control group gang members. Using these updated criminal histories this paper estimates group-based trajectories models to identify distinct life-course offending patterns. We predict group membership with demographic and gang network properties.
