What Information About Sexual Assault Are Colleges and Universities Making Available?

Abstract

Campus sexual assault has received increased scrutiny in recent years, and in 2014 the White House launched the “It’s On Us” awareness campaign hoping to end sexual assault on college campuses. As part of this initiative, colleges have been charged with developing policies for responding to and preventing sexual assault. Relying on content analysis, this project is an examination of the websites of a sample of colleges across the United States. The purpose of the research is to understand the types of information (if any) colleges and universities have made available about sexual assault, how readily accessible it is, and areas of continued need with regard to these efforts.
