The Relationship between Work Environment and Job Satisfaction for Officers in the Korean Coast Guard

Abstract

This study aims to examining the relationship between work environment and job satisfaction among officers in Korean Coast Guard. Considering the unusual work environment of the Korean Coast Guard, working within a vessel, it examines how the work environment on the vessel affects job satisfaction and how the work-family conflict moderates the effect of job satisfaction. For this, it employs the data from the survey conducted during ‘Korea Coast Guard Welfare Research and Mid-Long Term Welfare Strategy Making Research’ in 2013. Furthermore, this study will give policy suggestion for increasing job satisfaction of officers based on the results.
