• In Event: Transforming Research on Victims of Crime

Abstract

The National Resource Center for Victim Research and Evaluation seeks to improve the delivery of services and outcomes for victims of crime by ensuring those services are data-driven and research-based. Accordingly the center focuses on achieving four main objectives: 1) promoting the collection and use of victim data; 2) increasing access to research evidence on victim policies, programs, and practices; 3) supporting the translation and dissemination of victim research as useable information; and 4) improving opportunities for researchers and practitioners to work together. In this panel, we summarize efforts-to-date regarding the center’s facilitation of research-and-practice partnerships at the local, tribal, state, and federal levels. Preliminary findings from the 2017 partnerships will be presented, and funding for future partnerships will be discussed in hopes of attracting ASC researchers at the junior or senior levels who are interested in conducting crime victimization research with both theoretical and practical utility.
