Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
Jails and the individuals who live and work within them are significantly understudied relative to prisons and prison-based populations. This is unfortunate because there are significantly more jails in the U.S. than prisons, and the number of people who pass through jails each year far outnumber those who pass through prison. The papers on this panel all address issues facing jail inmates and staff.
