Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
The Center for Victim Research (CVR) is a Vision 21-funded project of the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) that aims to transform victim services by bridging the gap between research and practice in the field. CVR functions as a collaboration among three research- and practice-focused partners, including the Justice Research and Statistics Association, the National Center for Victims of Crime, and the Urban Institute. This panel introduces the one-stop shop framework of CVR by highlighting three of its core components: an interactive, engaging and content-rich website; a set of comprehensive research and practice syntheses; and efforts of collaboration among local- and state-level partners working together to advance and improve the response to crime victimization. In these ways, CVR works to connect victim service providers and researchers, broaden access to victim research and data, and improve the utility of research and data collection to crime victim services.
