Roundtable: Crime Prevention Methods for Unattended Package Delivery Theft or Porch Piracy

Abstract

Unattended package delivery rates have skyrocketed in the last several years as customers are turning to the convenience of online shopping. Many of these packages are delivered to an unattended residence and are easily stolen. This emerging crime type has been termed ‘porch piracy’ and is occasionally captured on residential surveillance and shared on local news and social media. This roundtable seeks to identify and discuss crime prevention methods for this rising theft.
