Session Submission Type: Roundtable Session
This roundtable brings together undergraduate students who have held internships in or related to juvenile court to explore their experiences in the context of the school-to-prison pipeline. Applying General Strain Theory, undergraduate students from the University of Washington Tacoma act as discussants to present observations and experiences from student internships at a regional juvenile court. Additionally we intend to facilitate discussions that will engage the audience and invite dialogue pertaining to issues regarding the school-to-prison pipeline, general strain theory, and the nature of applying theory to experiential learning opportunities.
