This research creates a new criminal profile for computer-related crime by establishing the link among certain offender traits and crime features. Utilizing the FBI’s National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) data from 2007 to 2015, a sample of 9,233 computer-related crimes were analyzed using latent class analysis (LCA) to identify underlying groups within the offender and offense characteristics. The results identified four offender subtypes and four crime subtypes.
