• In Event: Research-Practice Partnerships as a Strategy to Improve Public Policymaking in State Justice Systems

Abstract

Action research models have dominated discussion of academic-practitioner partnerships. An implementation extender model embraces implementation science which is more focused on the question of organizational adoption, adaptation, and change than on process outcomes. Implementation science provides a new role for the researcher which is focused more on the practice of organizational change than on issues related to process and outcome studies. This paper outlines an implementation extender model where efforts to test organizational interventions are highlighted. The tenets of the implementation extender model are: trust, organizational dynamics, change processes, and data-driven strategies.
