In criminal justice, research on missing and unidentified persons is broad and varied. Although few data sources, exist to make this research possible, particularly at a national level, other types of inquiry into these issues are possible, but can also face challenges given the nature of these types of cases. This presentation will include research considerations when examining these issues from various perspectives (e.g., victim, family, public, law enforcement, and other professional) and disciplines (e.g., criminal justice, public health, social science, forensic science).
