Abstract

Abstract: An examination of the real lived experiences of a Tejano/Chicano/Mestizo professor from the frontera (U.S. Mexico) border, Rio Grande Valley (South Texas). The diaspora of Latinxs’ in America is the demographic story of the 21st century. Today’s anti-immigrant sentiment along with current immigration policy enforcements affects the wellness of Latinx immigrant families their U.S.-born children and entire communities not only along the frontera, but across America. As such, the focus of this presentation is to inform the audience about myths and false perceptions of the frontera and Latinx immigrants.
