From Victims to Perpetrators: Bullying's Influence on American School Shootings

Fri, Nov 15, 12:30 to 1:50pm, Golden Gate Salon B, Area 3, B2 Level

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the current literature and factors that studies have listed as having contributed to school shootings in America. Different types of bullying may have different effects, however, bullying itself, in all forms, appears to be a common denominator when it comes to contributing factors of school shootings. Bullying appears to be a common theme as a contributing factor in almost all American school shootings, and the policy implications are discussed.
