Compliance, the behavioral response to legal rules, has become of utmost importance amongst academics and practitioners. There is now a large body of work about different influences on compliance. However, in all such work a crucial challenge remains: how to measure compliance itself. Without a proper measurement of compliance, it is impossible to evaluate existing compliance management and regulatory enforcement practices. This roundtable will showcase multiple perspectives and methodological considerations when undertaking compliance research.
