This presentation's objective is to rationalize how Agnew's Storyline theory can explain the occurrence of Officer-Involved Shootings (OIT). Officers are often placed in unique situations that have the potential to increase the likelihood of crime. Studying officers' storylines and officer-involved gun-violence through the lens of Storyline helps provide an explanation for why certain interactions between the police and the public become violent.
