The Urban Institute reviewed original studies and prior literature reviews on youth group/gang and gun violence interventions, with many of them related to three prominent models: focused deterrence, public health, and the Comprehensive Gang Model. The paper lays out the common and distinct core activities present in these models as captured in the literature, and the relationship between those activities and efficacy findings. The piece also discusses the implications and recommendations for future research in this field.
