Pre-test results from our survey of true crime podcast listers found that nearly two-thirds reported some form of victimization over their lifetime (63%). Of those, over half reported an instance of sexual victimization and of violent victimization at home. When compared to other listeners, victims of crime indicated different reasons for listening to true crime. They also reported different patterns in self-protective behaviors than non-victims. This poster presentation will examine the results from the final administration of the survey. It will explore factors related to victimization and reasons for true crime consumptions, listening patterns and behavioral changes as a result of listening.
