Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
This panel is focused on in-prison higher education programs and the transition to college campuses following incarceration experiences. Panelists include the current executive director of the NJ-STEP program at Rutgers University and two researchers who are studying how best to deliver high-quality in-prison education programs and the experiences of formerly incarcerated students as they transition to on-campus settings. Topics of the panel include both research findings and a discussion of the practical challenges of in-prison higher education and reentry programs.
