Session Submission Type: Panel
Migration is an inherent part of global history, as well as a component of the modern world that influences politics, economics, social life, as well as religious communities. East-Central Europe’s geopolitical location between the East and the West, the periods of its independent development and experiences of many occupations have led to the fact that society and its religious communities have a rich heritage of migration-related background. The panel is discussing the phenomenon of migration and its impact on religious practices, on cultural and political identities as well as on Church architecture. The region that we are focusing on is Lithuania, Belarus, Poland on the one, and Northern America as well as Western Europe on the other hand.
