The paper analyzes the problem of the formation of state borders between Belarus, Lithuania and Poland after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Independent states and their different geopolitical choices caused the relocation of the Eastern and Western Block border to the western Belarusian border and the appearance of an external border of the EU and NATO. The paper evaluates the process of formation and delimitation of the border and various models of cross-border cooperation and conflicts up to the 2021 migration crisis, which completely revised the border politics in the region.
