A Short History of the Word 'Fejk' in Russian Mass Media

The word "fake" has expanded in use across languages and has taken on new meanings in political arenas. This study examines the evolution of the word "fejk" in central Russian print media from the 1990s to 2022. This study traces traces the expansion of the use of "fejk," examining its morphological and semantic evolution. The study combines qualitative and quantitative methods to describe how the use of "fejk" has changed over time.
