Variations in the Emotional Labor of Black and White Practitioners in Racial Equity Work

Abstract

Based on case study of twenty-one administrators, faculty, and staff members at five predominantly white universities, this study illustrates similarities and differences in the ways Black and White practitioners in colleges and universities engage in emotional labor when called on to do racial equity work on behalf of their institution.
