Abstract

Community colleges frequently act as gateways to four-year institutions. Underrepresented minority (URM) students transfer from community colleges to four-year institutions at lower rates than non-URM students, however. This study seeks to better understand the experiences of transfer and challenges faced for URM students in comparison to non-URM students.
