Exploring the Advancement Aspirations and Support of Tenured Men of Color Associate Professors to the Rank of Professor

Abstract

Through critical qualitative inquiry, we explored the aspirations of tenured, Men of Color faculty to the rank of Full Professor, specifically how those aspirations were shaped, supported, and/or discouraged by administrators, mentors, and various initiatives, and the influence of their intersecting identities and society’s interlocking systems of oppression.
