Abstract

Paulo Freire’s contributions to education are significant, particularly his insistence that educators seek solidarity with the powerless through conscientização. Reflecting on Freirean tradition and teachings, this scholarly paper examines education’s assumptive roles of liberation and transformation for refugees, unfortunate inheritors of injustice and inequities resulting from persecution,conflict,and violence.
